Our Keynote Speaker, Theresa Ito has built her whole career through some amazing experience, with Fairmont, Sandals and Le Meridien properties, eventually, leading her to Hospitality and Tourism instruction at Royal Rhodes University in Victoria. She now is the principal at Blue Mountain Solutions, and is bringing her expertise to all the attendees at COOKSCAMP. Theresa will also be working closely with the Chefs’ Table Society on their exciting new Sector Labour Market Partnership initiative,

Theresa Ito is passionate about people, having worked in leadership internationally for over 30 years, she  loves nothing better than being part of people’s growth.

And that is why she has been successful with her company Blue Mountain Solutions Inc., developing leaders and teams in person and online. During her career in hospitality Theresa has successfully led teams in iconic brands including Fairmont Hotels, Le Meridien, Sandals Resorts and Hilton International.

Born and raised in Jamaica, Theresa was Sandals Resort’s first female General Manager and has lived in both Jamaica and England for 20 years each.
Through Blue Mountain Solutions, Theresa successfully trained leadership teams in England for many years and now based in beautiful Vancouver Island with her family, she enjoys providing services to a host of local and international clientele, assisting them to thrive in business.

Theresa is a certified John Maxwell Team Member, a facilitator for ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ and was an instructor at Royal Roads University.

Theresa is energetic and her sessions are always filled with leadership best practices, real-life solutions, useful anecdotes and a healthy dose of humour.

Theresa’s husband Chef Takashi Ito c.c.c. joined Blue Mountain Solutions a few years ago as the CulinaryBusiness Adviser & Implementer and together they are a hospitality power couple.

Chef Ito has over 40 years of experience in kitchens across Canada: New Brunswick, Ontario, Alberta and B.C., he assists Chefs to be more profitable and sustainable in business by developing and implementing efficient systems while keeping their work / life balance.
