Chef Bill Jones – Deerholme Farm

Bill Jones is the owner / chef of Deerholme Farm on Vancouver Island, BC. Bill has an amazing array of experiences behind him. He has cooked in Michelin-starred restaurants in France and England. He consulted for several premier fishing lodges in BC, including the famous King Pacific Lodge and Sonora Lodge.He is also a renowned author of 14 books and expert on the foods of the Pacific Northwest. Bill’s unique specialty is wild foods from the forest, fields and oceans.

Bill and wife Lynn, garden year round on the property which they style as an edible landscape. He is an acknowledged local expert on wild foods foraging with a passion for wild mushrooms and a keen respect of local first nations ethnobotany and culture. Bill has taught at many prestigious local venues including The Herb Farm (Seattle, Wash.), Hollyhock Retreat (Cortes Island, BC) and Foxglove Farm (Salt Spring, BC)

Jones is a passionate supporter of local food communities, a founding member of FarmFolk/CityFolk, SlowFood Vancouver Island and was a key organizer of the BC Canadian Chefs Congress.
