Food Security – Feeding BC, Now and Into the Future
British Columbia has some of the richest agricultural land, most talented farmers and most diverse food-producing communities in the country. Yet our food system faces growing challenges—from climate change and extreme weather to rising costs, farmland loss, labour shortages and increasing pressure on farmers.
So, how do we build a food system that can feed British Columbians today—and remain resilient for generations to come?
Join farmer Jordan Sturdy of North Arm Farm in Pemberton and BC Agriculture Minister Lana Popham for a candid conversation about the future of food security in our province. Together, they’ll explore what farmers need to remain viable, how government and industry can work together, and what role chefs, restaurants and consumers can play in strengthening BC’s food system.
This isn’t just a conversation about farming. It’s about where our food comes from, who gets access to it, and what it will take to keep BC fed.
